> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://docs.hiveinspect.com/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Comments in the Hive Inspect Mobile Report Editor > How comments work in the mobile report editor: checkboxes, multiple choice, text, defects with category, service, cost and timeline, photos, flags, descriptions, rename, duplicate and delete. In the mobile app: the report editor → a section → a subsection. Every subsection holds comments, grouped in three coloured cards: **Information** (green), **Limitations** (yellow) and **Defects/ Deficiencies** (red). Each comment is a card you can check, expand, fill in and add photos to. This page explains every part of a comment card. ## A comment card, folded ![Folded defect comments in the Roof Drainage Systems subsection: Gutter Damaged, Gutter Improperly Sloped, Gutter Leakage, Gutter Loose and Gutters Missing. Each card has an empty checkbox on the left, the comment name, a pencil button, two lines of its description, and a camera and photo-library button on the right. On a defect, it means you found that defect. Information questions with choices or text don't have one. | | **Name** | Tap it to open (expand) the comment, or to fold it again. | | **Red flag** next to the name | The comment is flagged for attention. See [Flag a comment](#flag-a-comment). | | **Pencil** | Renames the comment in this report. | | **Two grey lines** | The start of the comment's description, the text that goes in the report. | | **Camera** button | Takes photos for this comment. A number on it shows how many photos and videos it has. | | **Photo library** button | Adds photos from your phone's library. | Adding a photo or video to a comment turns it on for you. When you tick a checkbox, the comment opens so you can add photos straight away. You can turn that off in **My Profile → Comment Auto-Expand**. ### Card colours | Colour | Means | | - | - | | Green | An **Information** comment. | | Yellow | A **Limitations** comment. | | Blue | A defect in your **blue** category, for example Maintenance Items. | | Orange | A defect in your **orange** category, for example Recommendations. | | Red | A defect in your **red** category, for example Safety Concerns. | | Purple | A **Reinspection** item on a re-inspection report. | Your company names the three defect categories in **Report Customization** on the dashboard. The app shows them by colour. You can select more than one. Tap a selected option again to clear it. To use an answer that isn't listed, tap **+ Add**, type it in **Enter new option...** and tap **Add & Select**. See [Photos and media](#photos-and-media). | | **Description** | The text the client reads. Tap it to edit. | | **Category** | The coloured button. Tap it to switch between your blue, orange and red categories. The card's colour changes with it. | | **Service** | Who should fix it, for example **Gutter Contractor**. Tap to pick from your company's list. You can search it. | | **Est. Cost** | An estimated repair cost, for example "$150 - $300". | | **Est. See [Recommendation services](https://docs.hiveinspect.com/how-tos/recommendation-services.md). **Est. Cost** and **Est. Timeline** are optional. When you fill them in, they show under the defect in the client's report. The description you change here is only changed in this report. To change it for future reports too, use **Save to Template** (below). ## Photos and media An open comment has six buttons for photos and videos. Press and hold a button to see its name. | Button | What it does | | - | - | | **Camera** | Takes photos with the Hive camera. | | **Video camera** | Records a video. | | **Location pin** | Adds location tags, such as "Kitchen" or "Rear". It turns blue when the comment has tags. | | **Photo library** | Adds photos from your phone, up to 150 at a time. | | **Video library** | Adds videos from your phone, each under 6 minutes. | | **Flag** | Flags the comment for attention. | A comment can hold up to 150 photos and 10 videos. Under the buttons you'll see each one as a thumbnail: * Tap a photo to annotate it. Open the comment. 2. Tap the **flag** button. It turns red and a red flag shows next to the comment's name, its section and the Sections list. 3. To find them all, use the flag filter in [search](https://docs.hiveinspect.com/how-tos/mobile-search-and-flags.md). ## Save to Template, Duplicate and Delete At the bottom of an open comment: | Button | What it does | | - | - | | **Save to Template** | Also saves this comment to the template the report came from, so future reports have it. Turn it on, then sync. Photos, location tags and other report-only details aren't saved to the template. See [Saving comments to the template](https://docs.hiveinspect.com/how-tos/saving-comments-to-template.md). | | **Duplicate** | Adds a copy of the comment right away, for example for a second, similar defect. | | **Trash** | Deletes the comment from this report, after you confirm. | ![The Delete Field message: Are you sure you want to delete Downspouts Drain Near House? They show at the bottom of the open comment. Tap one to view it full screen, pinch or double-tap to zoom, and swipe between them. ## Re-inspection items On a re-inspection report, each subsection has a purple **Reinspection** card with the defects from the original report: * **Original Description** and **Original Photos** show what the original report said. The original photos are view only. * Tick an item to work on it. Then set its **Status**: **Resolved**, **Unsatisfactory** or **Unresolved**, add **Reinspection Notes** and add new **Reinspection Photos**. * The item's name turns green when resolved and yellow when unsatisfactory. * **Add Item** adds an item that wasn't in the original report. Only items you added can be renamed or deleted. See [Re-inspections](https://docs.hiveinspect.com/how-tos/re-inspections.md). ## Common questions > **Why did a comment turn on by itself?** > > Adding a photo or video to a comment turns it on. Untick it if you don't want it in the report; the photos stay. > **How do I change a defect's category on my phone?** > > Open the defect and tap the coloured **Category** button under the description. Each tap moves it to the next of your blue, orange and red categories, and the card's colour changes with it. > **Where do I set the defect category names?** > > On the dashboard, in **Report Customization**. The app shows the three categories by colour (blue, orange, red). > **I changed a description. Will my next report have it?** > > No, only this report. Turn on **Save to Template** on the comment and sync, and the template gets it too. > **Why can't I publish the report?** > > It probably has flagged comments.
