> ## Documentation Index > Fetch the complete documentation index at: https://docs.hiveinspect.com/llms.txt > Use this file to discover all available pages before exploring further. # Defect Summary and Merging Comments in the Hive Inspect App > Review every defect in a report in one list in the Hive Inspect mobile app, filter by category, add photos, and merge two or three similar comments into one with Hive AI. In the mobile app: the report editor → the menu button (bottom left) → the orange **warning** button. The **Defect Summary** lists every defect you've turned on in the report, grouped by section and subsection. Tap one to hide that category, and again to show it. | | **Section and subsection headings** | Where each defect is. Tap a subsection heading to fold it. | | **Defect cards** | The same cards as in the report editor. Tick, edit, add photos with the camera and library buttons, or tap the name to open the whole comment. | | **Expand** button (top right) | Opens or folds every card at once. | | **Merge** button | Starts merge mode. On a re-inspection report it's called **Reinspection Summary** and lists the re-inspection items. ## Merge comments When you've turned on two or three defects that describe the same problem, merge them into one comment. Hive AI writes a single, combined comment. ### 1. Tap the merge button Merge mode starts: "Select 2 or 3 comments from the same subsection. Once you have 2, tap Confirm at the bottom." Pick 2 or 3 comments in the same subsection Tap them to select them. ### 3. Tap Confirm and merge The **Merge Comments** window shows the comments you picked and asks "Are you sure you want to merge these comments?" Tap **Confirm and merge**. ### 4. Uncheck the originals The new comment is added to the subsection, turned on and opened. **The original comments stay checked**, so the report would show both. Uncheck the originals, then tap **I understand** on the reminder. * Merging needs an internet connection. Offline, the app says **No Internet**. * Your company needs Hive AI turned on. * The merge button doesn't show on re-inspection reports. * Tap **X** to leave merge mode without merging. ## Common questions > **Why can't I select a comment in merge mode?** > > You can only merge comments in the same subsection. Pick comments under the same subsection heading. > **After merging, the report shows the old comments too** > > Merging doesn't uncheck the originals. Open the subsection and uncheck them. > **Is the Defect Summary what the client sees?** > > No. It's your working list in the app. The client's summary is built from the same defects when you publish.
