Plans and billing

Every plan is listed under Business Tools → Subscriptions in the dashboard. Prices are on the pricing page.New accounts start on the free trial: 5 free reports, no credit card and no time limit. See How the free trial works.
  • Monthly and Annual: unlimited reports and all features. These are the only plans that let you add more inspectors. Many inspectors start monthly and move to annual later.
  • New Inspector Tiered: Monthly: for solo inspectors who started inspecting less than 3 months ago. You can’t add inspectors on it.
  • 10 Reports Package: a one-time purchase of 10 reports, valid for 1 year, for low-volume inspectors. You can buy it again when you run out. You can’t add inspectors on it.
Any free trial reports you have left are added to a 10 Reports Package, so 3 left plus 10 bought gives you 13. See Seats and billing.
Cancel your current plan, then start the new one. You don’t lose any data, templates or settings.
  1. Go to Business Tools → Subscriptions and click Manage Subscription.
  2. Cancel your current plan on the billing page that opens.
  3. Come back to Business Tools → Subscriptions. The plan cards show again once your plan is set to cancel.
  4. To move to annual, start the Annual plan. To move to pay per report, buy the 10 Reports Package once your current term has ended.
If you can’t find the plan you want after cancelling, ask in the chat bubble in your dashboard and our team will help.
There is no pause option, but you can cancel and come back any time.
  1. Go to Business Tools → Subscriptions and click Manage Subscription.
  2. Cancel on the billing page that opens.
Your account, templates and past inspections stay in place, and you can still sign in. You can’t create new inspections until you start a plan again. For a slow season, you can also switch to the 10 Reports Package once your current term ends.
Go to Business Tools → Subscriptions and click Manage Subscription. It opens your billing page, run by our payment processor Stripe, where you can update your payment method and see your past invoices. Stripe also emails a receipt each time you pay.If a receipt is missing, ask in the chat bubble in your dashboard and our team can resend it. For a client’s inspection invoice, see Payment options.

Your team

Add a paid inspector seat first, then invite the person. You need a Monthly or Annual plan. Seats can’t be added on the free trial, the 10 Reports Package or the new-inspector plan.
  1. Go to Business Tools → Subscriptions. In the Team Management card, click Add Inspector. The window shows the prorated charge for the rest of your billing period before you confirm.
  2. Go to Teams and click Invite User.
  3. Enter their email, choose Sub-Inspector as the role and click Send Invitation.
If the invite says there are no available inspector slots, the seat hasn’t been added yet. Each person needs their own login. Sharing one login on two devices causes sign-outs and overwritten work. See Invite a team member.
No. Office managers, schedulers and bookkeepers get their own login with the Support Staff role and don’t take an inspector seat. Invite them from Teams with Invite User.Support staff can schedule and manage inspections, but they can’t be assigned as the inspector on a job. To let someone see payments and payouts, turn on Financial Data Access for them. See Seats and billing.
One email can belong to only one Hive account. This message usually means the person already signed up for their own Hive account with that email, for example to try it out.Either invite them with a different email, or ask in the chat bubble in your dashboard. With your confirmation, our team can remove their separate account so your invite goes through.
Set permissions one person at a time.
  1. Go to Teams and click Manage next to the team member.
  2. Turn switches on or off, such as Schedule Management, Publish Reports, Financial Data Access or Manage Subscriptions.
  3. Click Save Changes.
For example, turn on Schedule Management so an office manager can see everyone’s calendars, or turn off Publish Reports so a trainee’s reports go to an admin first. See Set permissions for one person.
Removing the person and removing the paid seat are two separate steps.
  1. Go to Teams and click Deactivate next to the team member. Choose who their open inspections move to. Their completed inspections stay credited to them, and pay records, emails and activity logs are kept. They can no longer sign in.
  2. To stop paying for the seat, go to Business Tools → Subscriptions and click Remove Inspector in the Team Management card.
Ask them to sync any unsynced work in the mobile app before you deactivate them. Seats aren’t refunded for the part of the billing period already paid. See Seats and billing.

Signing in and your account

Ask our team. The Email field in Profile Settings is greyed out because you can’t change your login email yourself.
  1. Send your current and new email in the chat bubble in your dashboard. Check the new address for typos so you don’t get locked out.
  2. Once our team confirms the change, sign out and sign back in with the new email and your same password.
A business email that isn’t tied to one person is a good idea if your company may grow or change hands.
The web dashboard and the mobile app use the same email and password.
  • Forgot it: click Forgot password? on the login page and follow the reset email. The mobile app has a forgot password link too. Check your spam folder, and make sure you use the email your account is registered with.
  • Change it: go to Profile Settings, open the Security tab, enter your new password twice and click Update Password. It must be at least 8 characters.
To sign out of the web dashboard, click your profile photo at the top right and choose Sign Out.
