New this week

Schedule inspections from the mobile app

One of our most-requested features: a new tab in the mobile app lets you schedule a new inspection or create a quote without opening the web dashboard. You can start scheduling while you’re at an inspection, switch to another part of the app, and come back later. Everything you entered stays until you either confirm the inspection or save it as a draft. See Schedule Inspections.

Smarter PDF regeneration

Previously, if you edited a report after generating a PDF, there were situations where the older PDF could still be shown. Hive now detects whether the report has changed since the last PDF was generated. If it has, you’re prompted to generate a fresh PDF, with the option to open it as soon as it’s ready. This works from both the Web Editor and the mobile app, and makes it much easier to preview exactly how your PDF will look before publishing.

Send past inspection reports to clients

If you migrated from Spectora, ISN, Horizon, or another platform, you can import your past inspections into Hive so you don’t have to keep the old platform around just to access old reports. You can now send any imported past inspection PDF to a client in a few clicks, which is especially useful when someone follows up months or years later asking for their report. Go to Business Tools → Past Inspections. See Switch to Hive.

Mailchimp integration

If you use Mailchimp or an external CRM for your marketing, you can now connect Hive directly. Set it up under Business Tools → Mailchimp Integration. See Mailchimp Integration.

More improvements this week

Reorder service modifiers

Service modifiers were displayed in the order they were created, which became hard to manage as you added more over time. You can now drag and drop modifiers into whatever order makes the most sense for your business. See Services & Fees.

Edit report introduction and summary text from the mobile app

Customizing the Introduction Text or Summary Text for a specific report used to require the Web Editor. You can now update both directly in the mobile app: Report Editor → Section list → three-dot menu.

Duplicated comments stay together on mobile

The latest mobile app release includes the change announced last week: when you duplicate a comment, the copy appears directly underneath the original instead of at the end of the list.
