New this week

Pick exactly which defects to re-inspect

Creating a re-inspection report used to bring over every defect from the original inspection, and you then had to uncheck everything you weren’t planning to re-inspect. Now you simply select the specific defects you want to re-inspect. Each defect also shows its original report item number, so it’s much easier to match it to the defect referenced in the original report. See Re-inspections for a quick video.

Inspection Events on the mobile home screen

Inspection Events — Radon, WDO, Mold and other scheduled events — can now appear alongside your inspections on the mobile app home screen. You get a more complete view of your schedule and are less likely to miss one. If you’d rather not see them, turn it off in the mobile app under My Profile → Inspection view. See Mobile App.

Auto-select a rating when a defect is added

If you use ratings in your reports, you can now choose a rating — for example, “D” for Defect — to be selected automatically whenever a defect is added to the report. Turn it on per rating with Auto-select on Defects/Observations in your template’s Ratings settings. One less thing to select by hand while you write.

Your logo as a watermark on PDF reports

You can now add your company logo as a subtle watermark (8% opacity) throughout your PDF reports for some extra branding. It’s off by default; turn it on under Business Tools → Report Customization → PDF.

Kilometer and inspector-address distance modifiers

Three new distance-based modifiers are available for services and add-on services:
  • Kilometers from Company Address
  • Kilometers from Inspector’s Address
  • Miles from Inspector’s Address
The inspector-address options measure from the assigned inspector’s local address instead of your company address — useful for Canadian inspectors and for multi-inspector companies whose inspectors start from different locations. See Services and Fees.

Sub-inspectors can see their own earnings

If you use Pay Splits, a new option under Business Tools → Pay Splits lets your sub-inspectors see their own earnings for an inspection. Their earnings appear on the inspection order and on the Inspection Summary screen in the mobile app.
