Hive Calendar Walkthrough
Report design overhaul
We significantly improved the appearance and readability of digital reports, PDF reports, and Texas TREC reports:
- Improved banner images — choose from three banner styles for your digital reports
- Charts on reports — add donut and bar charts breaking down comments and defects by type, category, and section
- Section-level grouping — group comments by section instead of subsection by subsection (enabled by default; switch back anytime)
- Redesigned ratings grid — a cleaner matrix-style layout on both digital and PDF reports
- Improved report sidebar — including the Full Report, Summary Report, and PDF buttons
- Cleaner formatting when pasting from ChatGPT — hidden fonts, sizes, and other artifacts are stripped automatically
- PDF and TREC design polish
Find the settings under Org Settings → Report Writing. See sample reports for examples.
Compact PDF option
A new toggle reduces total PDF length by roughly 20% for inspectors and agents who prefer a shorter report. Find it under Org Settings → Report Viewing → Show Compact PDF.
French PDF translation
Alongside the existing Spanish translation, PDF reports can now be translated into French.
Availability calendar view
By default the calendar shows an Events view with each inspector’s scheduled events. Multi-inspector companies can switch to an Availability view to see who is free at a given time. Hive remembers your selection. See Team Availability.
Inspection event automations
Create automations tied to inspection events such as radon drop-offs, pickups, and walkthroughs with two new event types, Event Scheduled and Pre-event Reminders. See Automations.
Preset inspection events
If you frequently schedule the same event types, save them as presets and pick one while scheduling. Find it under Business Tools → Inspection Event Presets.
Web report editor enhancements
- Updated editor interface with better use of screen space
- Annotation previews, captions, and location tags now appear on image thumbnails
- New Move and Duplicate buttons in the thumbnail view
- Move subsections and comments from one location to another
- Flagged comments now show in a popup listing every flagged item; click any item to jump straight to it
See Web Editor.
Client and agent search in the online scheduler
Repeat clients and agents can start typing a name and select the right contact from a searchable dropdown connected to your account. For agents the dropdown opens automatically; for clients it stays minimized and opens with one tap. See Online Booking.
Custom booking confirmation message
Replace the standard thank-you message with your own confirmation text after a booking is submitted. Find it under Org Settings → Scheduling → Scheduler Confirmation Message.
Feature Requests portal
Submit detailed feature ideas, attach screenshots or videos, and track the status of your requests. Find it under Business Tools → Feature Requests.
What’s New in the dashboard
A What’s New button on the dashboard homepage lists the latest features and improvements.
More improvements this week
Default and custom annotation colors
Set a single default annotation color from the mobile app or web dashboard (it syncs across both), and pick any custom color with a full color picker.
Rotate annotations
Circle and rectangle annotations can now be rotated in both the mobile and web image editors.
Location tags load from the local cache, so they open almost instantly even on slow connections.
Zillow button on the inspection order page
Appears after you enter the property address, for quickly cross-checking listing information.
Mobile-friendly template editor
The Template Editor can now be viewed and navigated from a mobile browser.
Move sections and subsections in the Template Editor
Alongside the existing Duplicate and Delete options. See Inspection Templates.
Save to Template fix for duplicated sections
Comments saved from a duplicated section now save only to the matching original section or subsection; Hive no longer creates duplicate subsections in your template. See Save Comments to Template.
Agent Portal improvements
Inspections are sorted by inspection date, and inspections older than one month sit behind a Show More button.
Create an entirely new defect comment from scratch while completing a re-inspection, on both web and mobile. See Re-Inspections.
Control whether discounts apply to add-ons
Decide if percentage-based discount codes should apply to add-on services. Find it under Business Tools → Discount Codes. See Discount Codes.
Multiple quantities of the same add-on
Add the same add-on service twice to one order, for example two radon tests for different structures.
Random email generator for clients without email
Generate a unique placeholder email directly from the inspection scheduling page.
Pricing breakdown on the Earnings page
A new column shows the full pricing breakdown for each inspection, exportable to CSV.
Enhanced metrics
Each metrics card supports many more date ranges (QTD, YTD, Last X Days, and more), and you can download each card’s data as CSV.
Section completion status on mobile
Every section card shows an “X/Y” indicator of completed subsections.
Defect counts on the mobile summary screen
When you apply a filter, Hive shows the number of defects matching that filter, not just the total.
Mobile inspection summary improvements
The summary screen shows the main service and any selected add-ons directly below the banner image.
Limitation comments in the mobile app now use the correct light-yellow color.
On both mobile and web. New informational and limitation comments continue to appear at the bottom.
Improved report banner image quality
Higher-resolution banner images are preserved so the first thing clients see looks crisp.
Mobile video player improvements
The close “X” is now a clearer Back button, and videos no longer autoplay when opened.
Low phone storage warning
The mobile app warns you when your phone’s storage is running low.
