New this week

Smart Add

Tell Hive what you’re looking for in plain language, and Smart Add searches your template for the closest matching comments. If there isn’t a good match, it can create a new comment for you in the right section. A small group of beta testers has been using it for a while, and some report saving around 15 minutes per inspection. Open a report in the mobile app and tap the Smart Add button. See Smart Add for a walkthrough and video.

InterNACHI Buy-Back Guarantee integration

Connect Hive directly to your InterNACHI Buy-Back Program. Once connected, choose which services should be enrolled automatically, and Hive handles the rest when you publish. Set it up under Business Tools → InterNACHI Buy-Back. See InterNACHI Buy-Back.

Request Balance From Customer

A new Request Balance From Customer button on the Order Details page sends your client a quick email with their payment link and every payment method you currently allow. It doesn’t have to be Stripe. The email is tracked automatically in your Automation History. See Payment Options.

More multi-inspector pay split controls

For companies with multiple inspectors, two new options are available under Business Tools → Pay-Splits:
  • Pass the entire distance modifier fee to the assigned inspector.
  • Exclude discounts when calculating inspector pay splits.
By default, everything continues working exactly as before. These are additional options for companies that want more control over how inspector compensation is calculated.

QuickBooks for Canadian inspectors

The QuickBooks integration is now available for Canadian inspectors as well, with CAD invoices and your Canadian sales tax codes. See QuickBooks.

Choose miles or kilometers

Pick your preferred unit system for mileage tracking and route calculations under Org Settings → Measurement Units. Inspectors with Canadian addresses have been switched to metric automatically. More metric-related updates, including Distance Modifiers, are coming soon.

More improvements this week

Where Context Layer data comes from

An information icon next to the Context Layer tables now links to an explanation of how the data is generated. It’s on by default in both digital reports and PDF reports. See Hive Context Layer.

Inspection quick metrics follow your filters

The four quick metrics at the top of the Inspection List on the web dashboard now update to match whatever filters you apply. Previously, they always showed your overall totals.

Online booking notifications list add-ons

When someone books through your Online Scheduler, the inspector notification email now includes the main service and every selected add-on, so you can see exactly what was booked without opening the inspection. See Online booking.

More order details in the Reports Portal

The Order Details page in the Reports Portal now shows the selected service, add-ons, banner image, and other inspection details to clients and agents. See Client Portal.

Collapsible sidebar and dashboard polish

A number of smaller improvements shipped across the web dashboard, including a new collapsible sidebar that gives you more working space when you need it.
