Edit comments directly from Report Preview

Proofread your report before you release it and fix what you find without leaving the page. Hover over any comment in Report Preview and click Edit. No more jumping back and forth between Report Preview and the Report Editor to correct a typo or make a last-minute change before publishing. See Web Editor.

Filter automations by custom field

Advanced Automations can now be filtered on your Custom Fields. You already had these available as service modifiers; now you can also use them as conditions inside an automation, so you have much more control over when an automation should and shouldn’t run. Create the fields under Business Tools → Custom Fields. See Custom Inspection Fields and Automations.

Two new PDF layout options

Two more settings are available under Business Tools → Report Customization → PDF:
  • Single image per row — display one photo per row for much larger images. Bigger photos also mean a longer PDF.
  • Remove Table of Contents — drop the Table of Contents from the PDF entirely.
Both are off by default, so existing PDFs are unchanged.

Show company or inspector contact information

Multi-inspector companies can now choose whether reports and automations show the company’s contact information or the assigned inspector’s own phone number and email. Multi-inspector accounts originally defaulted to company information; if you’d rather show the individual inspector, turn it on under Org Settings → Business Management → Show the inspector’s own phone and email.

Click-each initials on agreements

If your agreement uses customer initial placeholders, your client now adopts their initials once and then clicks each individual initials box as they work through the agreement. It follows the DocuSign-style signing flow more closely and makes it clearer exactly where your client is initialing. See Agreements.

Require completed sections before publishing

You can now block a report from being published until every section has been marked as visited — the green checkmark on the web, the blue tag on mobile. Hive still allows publishing with unvisited sections by default, so nothing changes unless you turn this on under Org Settings → Report Writing → Require completed sections to publish. It’s useful if you want stricter quality control for yourself or your sub-inspectors.

Change credit card fees per inspection

Whether you pass credit card processing fees to the customer used to be a company-level setting only. You can now override it for a single inspection from the three-dot menu on the Fees & Payments card on the inspection Order page. Inspections you don’t touch keep following your company setting. Compose an email without picking a template

Selecting an email template is no longer required in Compose Email. If you just want to write a quick custom email to your client, type it into the editor and send it.

Completed and Not Completed inspection filters

Two new filters on the Inspections page. Completed means the agreement is signed, payment is made, and the report is published. Not Completed means at least one of those three steps is still outstanding — a fast way to find the inspections that still need your attention.

Report names in the report viewer

The report name now appears in the report viewer sidebar and header. This helps most on multi-unit inspections with separate reports such as Unit 101, Unit 102 and Unit 103, where your client can now see at a glance which report they’re reading. See Client Portal. Smart Add has a microphone button, so you can say what you’re looking for instead of typing it. The panel also picked up a number of space and layout optimizations to make it quicker to use while you’re writing reports on site. See Smart Add.

Unified View remembers your choice

The Unified View toggle in the web report editor is now remembered in your browser. Leave it on to see Information, Limitations and Defects together in sequence, or turn it off for three separate tabs — either way, your choice sticks the next time you open the report editor. See Web Editor.
