New this week
Earnings by event
The Earnings page has a new By event view. Each visit gets its own row: the inspection itself and each inspection event on it, such as a radon drop-off and its pickup two days later. Every row is dated by its own visit and shows who did it, plus the order’s services, total, payments and balance. Each order’s money is counted once, in the date range of its first visit, so nothing is counted twice. Export it to Excel (visits, orders and services on separate sheets) or CSV. See Earnings by event.
Default Inspector: None
Profile Settings → Default Inspector now has a None option. With it, inspections created in the dashboard start with no inspector, whoever books them. Use it when someone in your office assigns every job. Online booking isn’t affected. See Default Inspector.
Mark an inspector as requested
Each inspector on an inspection now has a Requested checkbox. Tick it when the client asked for that inspector by name, and everyone on your team can see it on the order page. See Mark an inspector as requested.
Turn off the Summary PDF
If you’d rather clients always read the full report, turn on Disable Summary PDF under Business Tools → Report Customization → PDF Report. Clients and agents then only get the full report PDF. The digital report and the defects summary inside the full report don’t change. See Disable Summary PDF.
The Add New Comment dialog in the Web Editor has a Save to template checkbox. Tick it and the new comment is added to your template too, so your next report has it. It’s off every time you open the dialog, the same as in the mobile app. See Save comments to your template.
Hide the inspector choice on your online scheduler
Turn off Let Clients Choose Their Inspector on Online Scheduler under Org Settings → Scheduling and clients no longer see an inspector dropdown when they book. Hive gives the job to the closest inspector who is free, and inspections you already assigned keep their inspector. See Org Settings.
Mark payouts as paid
The Payout Report now has Mark Paid and Mark All Paid, a Status column, and a Payment Status filter, so you can see what you still owe each inspector. Paid payouts are locked so later changes can’t alter them. Dates follow your company’s time zone, and the export is an Excel file. Inspectors who can see their own payouts see which ones are paid, in the dashboard and the mobile app. See Payout Report.
More improvements this week
Review requests and Send Reports from your dedicated number
If you have an approved dedicated number, Review Engine texts and Send Reports texts now come from it, like your automations. Client replies reach you in Messages.
Additional Report Added sends for every upload
An automation with the Additional Report Added event used to send only for the first additional report on an inspection. It now sends each time you upload one, so a water test, a radon result and a VOC report each get their own message. To send it only once, turn on Only Trigger Once. See Automation settings.
Re-inspection reports get their own name
New re-inspection reports are named Re-Inspection Report instead of copying the original report’s name, and you can rename them. Generate Reinspection is no longer shown in Report Tools while a re-inspection report is open. See Re-inspections.
Your signature follows the agreement’s alignment
{{{inspector_signature}}} in an agreement now lines up with the text around it, on screen and in the signed PDF, instead of always being centered. See Agreements.
Annotations in the repair addendum
Photos in the repair addendum now show your annotations, on screen and in its PDF. Item numbers match your report, and a hidden recommendation service or No Recommendation no longer prints as Service Required. See Repair addendum.
Annotations on photo thumbnails in the mobile app
Photo thumbnails in the app now show a small copy of your annotations: on the comment card, in Add Field, in the Photo Bank and on the original photos of a re-inspection. Your default annotation shape is now one setting for the whole company, on the web and in the app. Update to the latest version of the app.
Comment Assist in the Web Editor and the template editor now uses the same blue Hive Comment Assist button as the mobile app, and the dialog button reads Create Comment. See Comment Assist.
Portal Activity fixes
Portal Activity now filters by the day in your company’s time zone, so evening visits show on the right day. Clients and agents whose email has capital letters are now linked to their contact. Clear All says how many entries it will delete across every date. See Portal Activity.
Search on the Contacts page now finds contacts by company name and by phone number, typed with or without dashes. See Contacts list.Last modified on October 24, 2026
