The panel opens at the top of the Add screen. The Hive Comment Assist panel on Add Defect/ Deficiency: Text Length set to Medium (3-5 sentences), Describe the issue with the example e.g., leaky faucet, cracked window, missing GFCI outlet..., a blue microphone button and a greyed-out Generate button

3

4

Tap Generate

After a few seconds the app shows “Field generated successfully” and fills in the form. The Add Defect/ Deficiency form filled in by Hive Comment Assist: Comment Name Double-Tapped Breaker; Description: Two wires are connected to a single breaker terminal in the main panel (a double tap). Most breakers are only rated for one wire, and a loose second wire can overheat and cause a fire. Recommend a licensed electrician correct the wiring; the red Category square ticked; service Electrical Contractor; Auto-select this comment turned on; and a blue Create Comment button
5

Check it, change anything you like, and tap Create Comment

Comment Assist is a starting point. Read the text before you save it.
  • Comment Assist needs an internet connection. Offline, the app says “No Internet: Please check your internet connection and try again.”
  • Dictation also needs a connection on most phones.
  • You can also use Comment Assist on an existing comment: open its description and tap the blue sparkle button. See Edit a description.

Leaving without saving

Tap X to leave. If you’ve typed anything, the app asks “Discard Changes: Are you sure you want to discard your changes?” Tap Discard to throw it away, or Cancel to keep editing. The Discard Changes message over the filled-in form: Are you sure you want to discard your changes? Buttons Cancel and Discard If the app closes while you’re adding a comment, for example when your phone runs low on memory, your work isn’t lost. Next time you open the Add screen on the same card in that subsection, the app asks Restore unsaved comment? (or Restore unsaved item? on a re-inspection). Restore it, or discard it to start fresh.

Add a re-inspection item

On a re-inspection report, tap Add Item on the purple Reinspection card. Add Reinspection Item works like adding a defect, plus a Resolution Status: Resolved, Unsatisfactory or Unresolved. Comment Assist and Save to Template aren’t available for re-inspection items.

Common questions

Something required is missing. Every comment needs a name. A defect also needs a category, a multiple-choice comment needs options, and a text comment needs a description.
Only if you turned on Save to Template before you created it, and then synced. Otherwise it’s only in this report.
Your company needs Hive AI turned on. It also doesn’t show for re-inspection items.
Yes. Everything it fills in is a normal field you can change before, or after, you tap Create Comment.
