Plans change: a seller denies access, a client’s closing moves, or weather pushes a roof inspection. Rescheduling in Hive Inspect takes one edit, and with the right automations in place the client, agents, and your team are all notified of the new time without you writing a single message.

Rescheduling an inspection

Step 1: set up reschedule notifications (one time)

1

Create reschedule automations

Go to Automations in the web dashboard and create an email and an SMS automation triggered by Inspection Rescheduled. If pre-built reschedule templates are available in your library, import those instead of starting from scratch.
2

Customize the wording

Edit the subject and body to match how your business talks to clients. Placeholders such as the new date, time, and address fill in automatically.
3

Associate the automations with your services

Attach the reschedule automations to each inspection service so they apply to every booking of that type. See Automations for details.

Step 2: reschedule the inspection

  1. Open the inspection and click Reschedule Inspection.
  2. Pick the new date and time, and change the assigned inspector if needed.
  3. Save. The calendar event moves, and the reschedule automations send.
If you use Google Calendar sync, the calendar event is updated in place rather than duplicated, so your team’s calendars stay accurate.

Frequently asked questions

No. Signed agreements and payments stay attached to the inspection; only the date, time, and calendar event change.
Yes. Temporarily turn off the reschedule automations, or leave the services unassociated, and the change will be silent.
Clients can’t change the time themselves. They contact you, and you reschedule from the dashboard or app so everyone is notified consistently.
